Are you ready for the holidays? We are – because Christmas came early at Beauty Bar Medispa. This year we acquired two of the industry leading laser aesthetic workstations. These state-of-the-art devices are precise tools used in performing a photo facial that will reduce brown spots and acne scars to reveal younger, healthier looking skin. Now your holiday wish for clear, youthful looking skin is just a 30 minute appointment away from being a reality! It just feels like Santa came early, because we’re so excited about what a laser photo facial can do for you.
What Is a Photo Facial, Anyway?
Photo facial is a term for a light-based skin resurfacing treatment which is typically used to treat brown spots, broken capillaries and to boost collagen. This year, Beauty Bar Medispa acquired two laser aesthetic workstations that can perform a photo facial. We made the investment in laser applications, rather than another process called IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), because the laser treatment allows us to better pinpoint areas of treatment. One technician described the difference between IPL and lasers as that “IPL is like throwing a grenade at a target while laser is like a sniper.”
The Elite+ Aesthetic Workstation is a high-powered, dual-wavelength system that delivers energy faster for faster results. The Elite+’s wavelengths are the gold standard for hair removal, facial and leg veins, epidermal pigmented lesions, and wrinkle reduction on all skin types. Our second laser workstation, the MedLite C6, lives up to its reputation as the “workhorse” of aesthetic lasers, with unmatched Precision Beam Technology. By providing a true flat-top beam profile, MedLite produces consistent results with fewer complications for reliable treatments time after time. MedLite’s homogenous beam delivers energy evenly over the skin’s surface, minimizing epidermal injury and increasing patient satisfaction.
Most photo facials have very limited downtime, so you’ll be able to get back out and enjoy your life without having to wait for your skin to heal or peel for weeks after the treatment.
What to Expect During Your Photo Facial
First, we’ll consult to assess your skin’s condition and your personal goals for the treatment. Before your first photo facial, it’s important to stay out of the sun, as any tanning can limit the effectiveness of the treatment. (Using a high-SPF daily moisturizer is a great habit to get into anyway, so this is the perfect time to get a jump on your New Year’s resolution if you know you should be better about this!)
In the office, we’ll prep your skin with a numbing gel to minimize any discomfort you might feel during the procedure. We’ll choose which of our two new laser workstations is right for you and select the appropriate wavelength of laser light for your personalized best results. Each application of the laser will be directed at a problem area, and you may feel a quick sting during the flash — some people have described it feeling like the snap of a rubber band on your face that comes and goes quickly.
It only takes about a half hour to complete your photo facial treatment. We’ll apply a cooling gel, and your skin may feel hot for the rest of the day, as if you got a minor sunburn. Any lingering discomfort or redness should be gone by the next day. Follow-up treatments are usually spaced about a month apart.
The Benefits of the Photo Facial
One of the great things about this treatment is its versatility. A photo facial treatment can pinpoint age spots, reduce discoloration of acne scars and eliminate redness from all kinds of causes. With little discomfort and recovery time, it’s the perfect choice for busy women to improve their skin tone and confidence. We’d love to see you in person to show you how a photo facial can help make this holiday season your most enjoyable ever!
